Golf swing analysis from a real PGA coach

Send two phone videos and a certified PGA coach tells you what is really happening in your swing, what to work on first, and gives you a drill to fix it.

What a coach looks at

• Setup and alignment. Grip, posture, ball position and where you are aimed.
• Swing path and plane. Whether the club is coming from the inside or over the top, and how that shapes your miss.
• Rotation and sequencing. How your hips, chest and arms work together through impact.
• Tempo and balance. Whether you are rushing the transition or falling off the shot.

How to film your swing

You don't need a tripod or special equipment. A few things make the review much more useful:

1. Down the line. Stand your phone behind you, roughly hand height, looking along the line from your ball to the target. Make sure your whole body and the club are in frame.
2. Face-on. Place the phone in front of you, square to your body at about belt height, so you can see your head down to your feet.
3. Just the swing. A few seconds each, from setup through finish. Use your normal swing with the club you struggle with.
4. Good light, steady phone. Leaning the phone on your bag works well.
